Does the grapefruit extract in Bio-Kult Candéa interfere with prescription medications?
Grapefruit juice can interact with a range of different classes of medicines, potentially resulting in impaired drug metabolism and increased concentrations of the drug in the body. The most well-studied mechanism by which grapefruit interacts with drugs is through interference with the activity of certain enzymes in the liver (cytochrome P450). The chemicals in grapefruit responsible for this interaction are called furanocoumarins. A single serving of grapefruit juice contains approximately 1800-fold more furanocoumarins than a daily dose of Bio-Kult Candéa. Data on file* suggests that the quantity of furanocoumarins present in the grapefruit extract within the daily dose of Bio-Kult Candéa is highly unlikely to alter the absorption of medications metabolised through the cytochrome P450 pathway. However, if you are taking any medications or have any medical conditions, we always recommend consulting your doctor before taking any food supplements.

I've battled chronic...
I've battled chronic yeast infections for years. YEARS! It's gone. I have taken probiotics for years along with raw garlic. To have them both wrapped into one has been life altering for me. I'm a customer for life.

I've been using prob...
I've been using probiotics from this company for years, since first recommended by a naturopath. I have systemic candida problems, so need help sometimes in keeping the fungal growth at bay, and I find this company's probiotic strains to be very effective. They've changed, adding new products since I last ordered. Tried this product with garlic and grapefruit extract for the first time last order, but am going back to the probiotic on its own next time, as I don't feel this product with the seed extract was quite as effective for me. (I take garlic tablets separately anyway.)

I learned about the diverse strains that Bio-Kult uses that I was unable to find in other brands. I had also struggled with candida in the past and thought these would be good for me. So I purchased and waited in anticipation for them to come. They arrived quickly and in good condition. I have not been taking them very long yet, but am so far very pleased with their quality. These leave a slight garlic taste in my mouth, but I take them at night before bed, so it is not an issue. Thank you Bio-Kult.
