Synopsis

Bio-Kult Lepicol is a multi-fibre-source product containing inulin and gentle psyllium husk, which contributes to maintaining normal bowel transit. On pack we say' contributes to the maintenance of normal bowel transit'. Together these two ingredients can help ensure your recommended daily intake of fibre. The third key ingredient is a five-strain blend of live bacteria that are naturally present in the digestive system.

Chosen to be gentle yet effective, psyllium husks can be better for a sensitive bowel than other common sources of fibre such as wheat or bran. They help normalise stool size by retaining water and, at the same time, form a soft gel which eases the stool along the lower digestive tract to make evacuation easier.

Built on 30 years of research and expertise in gut health, Bio-Kult Lepicol also contains five scientifically selected strains that support the microflora in your digestive tract, and inulin, a fibre sourced from chicory root that helps feed the bacteria in the gut.

Can I take too much fibre?

While fibre is an important part of a healthy diet, consuming more than what you’re used to may cause temporary digestive discomfort, such as bloating or gas. If you are increasing your fibre intake, it is often best to do so gradually and to ensure you drink plenty of water. This can help your body adjust more comfortably.

Always follow the recommended directions for use. If you have a medical condition, or any concerns about your fibre intake, please speak with your healthcare practitioner.

What do I do if I experience any discomfort whilst taking Lepicol®?

It’s not uncommon for your digestive system to need a little time to adjust to increased fibre intake. If you experience bloating or digestive discomfort, try taking a smaller amount and building up gradually over time, whilst making sure you’re drinking enough water. If symptoms persist or you’re concerned, please speak to a healthcare practitioner.

I suffer from diarrhoea and constipation, will Lepicol® help in both situations?

Lepicol® contains psyllium husk fibre, which absorbs in the digestive tract and helps support normal bowel function. Because of the way psyllium husk works, some people choose to use fibre supplements whether they experience occasional constipation or loose stools.
However, everyone’s digestive system is different and individual experiences may vary. It is important to take Lepicol as directed and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

If you have persistent diarrhoea, constipation, or any ongoing digestive symptoms, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional to determine any underlying cause and an appropriate plan for your needs. .

Can Lepicol® cause side effects?

Lepicol® is generally well tolerated, but some people may notice temporary digestive changes when they first start taking it. This is often related to an increase in fibre intake and may settle as the body adjusts.

We recommend introducing fibre gradually, following the directions for use, and drinking plenty of water. If you experience ongoing discomfort or have any concerns, please seek advice from a healthcare practitioner.

Who should check with a healthcare professional before using?

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have an existing medical condition, or are experiencing ongoing digestive symptoms, we recommend speaking with a healthcare practitioner before using Lepicol®.

You should also seek medical guidance before giving Lepicol® to children to ensure it is suitable.

Can I take Lepicol® if I'm pregnant?

Lepicol® can be taken when pregnant or breastfeeding. However, we would always suggest that you seek advice from your doctor or healthcare professional before taking nutritional supplements.

Can I take Lepicol® If I'm on other medication?

Lepicol® can be used by many people as part of their daily routine. However, if you are taking any medication, its always a good idea to check with your doctor or pharmacist before use. Because the psyllium husk fibre may affect how some medicines are absorbed, they may recommend leaving a gap between taking your medication and Lepicol®.

Is Lepicol® safe for children to take?

Yes, Lepicol® can be used by children according to the directions for use. If you are considering giving Lepicol® to a child, we recommending seeking medical guidance first to ensure it is suitable for their needs.

Is Lepicol® safe to take every day and how long should I take it?

Yes, Lepicol® is designed to be taken daily as part of your regular routine when used according to the directions for use. As a source of dietary fibre, Lepicol® can help you increase your daily fibre intake alongside a healthy diet and lifestyle. It is important to take Lepicol® with plenty of water.

There is no set length of time that Lepicol® needs to be taken for. Many people choose to use it as part of their daily routine to help increase their fibre intake. Some people choose to use Lepicol® for a short period when looking to increase their fibre intake or support during a particular time.

When should I take Lepicol®?

We recommend taking Lepicol® at least 30 minutes before a meal.

The volume of water we recommend drinking with Lepicol® could increase fullness so it is not recommended to take alongside a meal. This is a guide and for some people the timing may vary to fit into their daily routine. Lepicol® can therefore, be taken any time of the day, away from food.

How do I mix Lepicol® and how much water should I use?

Shake the powder before use, then mix with water or juice before consuming immediately. This should then be followed by a further glass of water. Always aim to consume a 250ml glass of liquid with every heaped teaspoon.

Is it normal to notice changes in bowel movements?

Yes, when increasing fibre intake, it’s not unusual to notice some changes in bowel habits as your digestive system adapts. This may include changes in frequency, consistency or regularity of bowel movements. These changes are often temporary, but if you have any concerns or experience ongoing symptoms, we recommend speaking with a healthcare practitioner.

Can fibre make constipation worse if taken incorrectly?

Fibre and water work hand in hand. Because Lepicol® contains psyllium husk fibre, its important to drink plenty of fluids and follow the directions for use.

Increasing fibre intake too quickly or not drinking enough water may make it difficult for your digestive system to adjust comfortably. If constipation symptoms persist or worsens, speak with a healthcare practitioner.

Is Lepicol® the same as psyllium husk?

Lepicol contains psyllium husk alongside live bacteria and inulin for additional gut health and digestive support.

Is Lepicol® a probiotic or prebiotic?

Alongside psyllium husk fibre, Lepicol® contains 5 specially selected strains of live bacteria and inulin for gut health and digestive support.
