We are microbiome experts
We're proud to have collaborted with numerous universities and clinical research organisations around the world to conduct over 30 clinical trials using gold-standard research methods. Formulated in the UK, our live bacteria blends and doses are informed by clinical research and an evidence base we continue to develop.
Why use a live bacteria supplement?
Due to modern life and the way we now live, many of us are exposed to a smaller range of microorganisms from the natural environment. At the same time, aspects of modern life including medications, stress, pollutants, poor diet and lack of sleep may negatively affect the gut microbiome.
We've spent over 30 years researching the wonders of the gut microbiome
Bio-Kult’s live bacteria strains are specially protected using advanced cryoprotective technology. A protective coating is applied before freeze-drying, helping the bacteria survive production and storage while remaining dormant until they reach the right conditions in the digestive tract, where they can become active again.
The science
SCIENCE YOU CAN TRUST. STRAINS DEVELOPED BY US.
Scientifically researched strains
Not all probiotics are equal. Bio-Kult uses 14 carefully selected bacteria strains, each with its own unique identity, role, and strain number.
Designed to survive
Gut-friendly bacteria have to make it through the acidic environment of the stomach to reach the gut alive. Our strains are individually fermented and freeze-dried
Fully traceable
Every Bio-Kult strain carries a PXN number, lodged at NCIMB (National Collection for Industrial, Marine and Food Bacteria) in Aberdeen.
Our ingredients
With a unique combination of live bacteria with the benefits of vitamins and minerals, our products are designed to give your gut just what it needs.
But that’s not all. Individually fermented before being freeze-dried, our strains and their unique packaging keep the bacteria active, even at room temperature. With no refrigeration required, this gives you the freedom to feel gut great anywhere, whether you’re on the commute or a cruise.
You know they're beneficial, but how do they get their names?
Well, each has three parts: the genus, the species and the specific strain. Whilst strains from the same genus or species may share similar characteristics, they may not necessarily have the same effects, as each strain has its own unique identity.
PXN® strain numbers are allocated to each of our strains following their genus and species classification. These strain identifiers are used in published scientific research conducted using our products, helping to ensure that the specific strains studied can be clearly identified.
